Get access to the Newdle story dashboard and pick your story, or bring your own story.
04 Get paid once your video is accepted
Our editors review for accuracy and sourcing, never your angle, and once it's accepted you'll be eligible for payment.
What a piece pays
Two things set the rate: whether the story came from our list or from you, and whether it's in your area of expertise.
You always see the exact figure before you pick up a story, and accepted videos are paid once a month, as a contractor.

You own your videos
We license what we accept. You can post your video anywhere once a short exclusive window ends, and a video we don't accept is yours right away.
A profile that stands behind the work
Every creator keeps a Newdle profile with a verified identity and a published editorial policy, so your audience knows who is reporting and how you work, corrections included.
Covered while you report
Work you produce in the program is covered by Newdle's media liability insurance, so you can take on hard stories with real support behind you.

We post the story. It's tagged Climate, which is one of your focus areas.
You make a short explainer and send it. It passes our accuracy check, so we accept it.
Pays: $250 · Selected by Newdle, in your focus area
2 · A zoning fight in your town: Bring your own story. Outside your focus area
The story isn't on our list, and local politics isn't one of your focus areas. You make a video anyway and send it.
We accept it. You still get paid, and the video is still yours.

Questions
How much will I actually make?
It depends on your focus area, the stories you take, and how many you make. You will see your rate card before you commit, and there's a monthly maximum we share when you join.
Who decides if a story is in my focus area?
Your focus areas are set when you join and updated over time. If a story's topic is one of your focus areas, it pays your focus area rate.
Is there a minimum number of videos I need to submit?
To keep your place in the program, you will need at least 1 accepted video every month.
Does flagging first mean I get accepted?
No. We take the best submission, whoever made or flagged it. We're never obligated to accept any video.
Do you change my video?
No. We check accuracy and sourcing before it runs. Your voice and your cut are untouched.
Do I keep ownership?
Yes. We license what we accept, and you keep the rest, including anything we don't take.
When can I post my video on my own channels?
Right after a short exclusive window. When you submit, Newdle has a short window to run it first. After that, post it anywhere, and a video we don't accept is yours right away.
How fast do I need to deliver?
While the story is current. Some carry a cover-by time, and for a few urgent ones we ask a single creator to cover by a set deadline.
